Bergen

Series of 6 low reliefs, 2015
Concrete, cherry wood, graffiti, anti graffiti wax
80 x 55 x 7 cm

The series takes as its point of departure the changes street art underwent in Bergen during the 2000s, in how the art form was perceived, funded, and presented. During this period, street art moved from being regarded as an unwanted or controversial presence in public space to becoming increasingly institutionally framed, publicly funded, and exhibited within commercial galleries and established art venues. The work was first shown in the exhibition Knust i Offentlig Rom at Kristiansand Kunsthall.
