Seksagesimal

2015
Spray painted 10mm aluminium sheets, 567x150x127 cm

Installation view from the Astrup Fearnley Museum. Seksagesimal takes the sexagesimal numeral system as its starting point. This system has 60 as its base and is commonly used today for measuring time, angles and geographical coordinates. The factor numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,10,12,15,20,30 and 60 has been used to define the diagonal angles across the sheets and thereby their width. Furthermore the sheets are leaning against the wall with an angle corresponding to its painted diagonal angle. Read a review of the exhibition.
